The Hartford Matadors picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, knocking off the El Paso Chupacabras, 4-2. Starting pitcher Vinny Padilla was a big reason why. Padilla, the winner, moves to 7-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. The save went to Ken Yates, number 27 for him.

The Matadors got an important contribution from second baseman Chris Flowers, who in the bottom of the third hit a slider to left for a run-scoring double. It was his 22nd double of the season and put the Matadors ahead, 2-0.

"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Padilla.

Hartford is now 61-63, El Paso 66-58.
