Tailgators Pull Off Thrilling 4-3 Win in Extras
|
Tailgators Ballpark did not lack for drama.
Nick Douglass, who leads the SC with a 0.95 WHIP, had a strong outing for the Chesapeake Tailgators against the Joilet Jesters at Tailgators Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Reliever Frank Howerton picked up the win. His record improves to 4-3. Micah Morgan took the loss.
The decisive blow was delivered by Ed McCarson in the bottom of the 13th when he hit a run-scoring double off 26-year old right-handed pitcher Micah Morgan to win the game for Chesapeake. The home crowd went nuts.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," McCarson said in his postgame press conference.
Chesapeake has now won 4 in a row.
