Royals Rally Late to Clip Little Rock
|
The Montreal Royals beat the Little Rock Governors, 4-3. Montreal pitcher and Pinar del Rio, Cuba, native Leonardo Hernandez led the way. The winner in relief was Rich Roberts. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-0. Mike Banks earned the save for Montreal.
Tim Reed chipped in for Montreal, stroking a crucial run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the first baseman was 2-3 with a double.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Montreal manager Bobby White. "It's usually not just one thing."
The 5th-place Governors now sit at 49-77.
