Montreal pitcher Alex Gomez did his part in helping his team beat the El Paso Chupacabras, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Pedro Rodriguez got the save, his 14th in 15 chances. The win puts Montreal at 81-40 this season.

Shortstop Dwayne Cook made an impact for Montreal, when he swatted a 2-run double off Jason Seymour in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Cook went 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Cook.
