Mad Ants Outdo Jesters in Extra Innings
The Portland Mad Ants beat the Joilet Jesters, 8-4, in 10 innings. Portland pitcher and West Vero Corridor, Florida, native Jaheim Jennings led the way. Steve Greene picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Mark Burkhart was tagged with the loss. The setback makes Joilet 52-70.

Portland used a timely hit from Eric Alvarado to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mad Ants ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a difference-maker.

"Enjoyed this one," Jennings told the Portland Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
