Matadors Solve Jesters, 6-2

Led by 23-year-old Chris Flowers, the Hartford Matadors downed the Joilet Jesters, 6-2. Flowers went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Hartford. Jeremy Carter recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 2 for 2. The Matadors sport a record of 78-42.
Tony Perez had a big 2-run home run for the Matadors in the bottom of the second inning. With Hartford leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Tyler Huewe and swatted a home run to center. It was his 6th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Matadors ahead, 3-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Perez said after the game.
