Marshals Clip Muskies, 4-3
|
The Baxter Springs Marshals and Glendale Muskies played an exciting game.
The Baxter Springs Marshals took Glendale pitcher Juan Rosales's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Field of the Muskies. The final score had Baxter Springs getting past the Muskies, 4-3. Rosales went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 4. The win was credited to 24-year old left-handed pitcher Jared Holder in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Derek Moke took the loss.
Andy O'Brien, who is tied for 4th in the SC in doubles with 25, had a direct impact on the outcome. O'Brien contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Baxter Springs up, 4-3.
Baxter Springs manager Mitsuaki Sakaguchi was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
The win for the Marshals lifted their record to 60-60.
