Fremont beat Nashville in a rain-soaked ballgame.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 25-year old shortstop Charlie Harrison, the Fremont Marshalls defeated the Nashville Lasers, 8-2. The winning pitcher was Tarjei Wiese. He tossed 89 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 3 hits.

Chris Dietel hit a 2-run home run off Pat Higginbotham in the bottom of the first, which put the Marshalls ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Dietel had 1 double, while going 2 for 5.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Harrison.

The Stars Conference West Division-leading Marshalls have a record of 68-50.
