Laredo Gets 2-0 Win Behind Lefty Kitko
|
In a low-scoring game between the Laredo Ghosts and the Baxter Springs Marshals, pitcher Tom Kitko was masterful on the mound. The Laredo left-hander spearheaded his team's 2-0 win. The first-place Ghosts go to 73-47.
Kitko, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, was dealing all game. He kept Baxter Springs hitters off-balance, while giving the Ghosts 8.1 quality innings. Kitko threw 94 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 7.
Afterward, Ghosts manager Josh Miller was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
