Chris Malay had an impact in the 4-3 Baxter Springs win over Laredo. The 23-year old first baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Christian Chervenka earned his 1st save, after closing out the game. The Marshals now have a record of 70-50 with the win over Laredo.

Baxter Springs used the timely hitting of Matt Bellavance to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Marshals on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Bellavance told reporters after the game: "Close wins always feel extra good."
