Flowers Belts 2 Homers in 7-3 Win
|
Chris Flowers knocked in 3 runs to help Hartford beat Montreal, 7-3. The Willowbrook, California native tallied 1 single and 2 home runs. Alberto Renteria was the winner. He's now 11-8. The loser was 25-year old left-handed pitcher Adam Obermeier. The Matadors, at 57-58, sit in 4th place in the Stars Conference West Division.
Flowers contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Hartford in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Flowers took a fastball from Adam Obermeier and stroked the home run to center. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Matadors to leap in front, 4-3.
"We played hard and won," said Flowers. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
