Laredo Sent Home with 3-1 Loss
|
Lubbock turned a good effort from starter Jonathan Glover into a win over the Laredo Ghosts at Ghosts Ballpark. The Stampede won the game, 3-1. Glover, the winner, moves to 5-11. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. The 4th-place Ghosts have dropped 4 straight games.
The Ghosts had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Stampede going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Ethan Gatto came to the plate. Gatto hit a solo home run on a 1-2 fastball from Laredo hurler Cory Langan. It was Gatto's 13th home run of the year.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Gatto said.
