The Hartford Matadors grabbed a win, 8-6, over the Montreal Canadiens in 11 innings at Oilers Ballpark. Hartford center fielder Jake Brosius was 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Hartford improves to 73-44 with the win. They lead their division by 11 games.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the 11th, Austin Alpers hit a sacrifice fly. The Matadors took the lead, 7-6.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Alpers said in reaction to the win.
