Chupacabras Handed 7-5 Defeat
|
Though he had a stellar game, David Hollick could not prevent his team, the El Paso Chupacabras, from losing, 7-5, to the Chesapeake Tailgators. Hollick was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bobby Dwyer earned the save, his 11th, for the Tailgators. Their 47-67 record puts the Tailgators 5th in the Stars Conference East Division.
Chesapeake designated hitter Trey Maughan contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 94th hit of the season and put the Tailgators ahead, 3-1.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Maughan told a Chesapeake Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
