The El Paso Chupacabras knocked off the Chesapeake Tailgators, 5-2, in Stars Conference action at Chupacabras Stadium. El Paso pitcher and Padre las Casas, Dominican Republic, native Jesus Fernandez had an outstanding performance. Fernandez, the winner, moves to 8-5. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 4 walks. Bobby Henderson earned the save for El Paso, his 4th of the year.

Aharon Kroyan went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for El Paso. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Antonino Sauli. It was his 10th RBI of the season.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Chupacabras manager William Maysonet.

El Paso raised its record to 62-50 with the win.
