The Chesapeake Tailgators picked up a win at Turtles Ballpark, knocking off the Montreal Royals, 2-1. On the mound for Chesapeake was right-hander Eric Tate. He played a key role in the triumph. Rich Hepler got the save, his 1st in 1 chances. The victory gives Chesapeake a record of 61-53.

Cesar Ornelas, who is tied for 9th in the SC with a .288 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Ornelas contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Chesapeake up, 2-0.

"Tip of the cap to the Tailgators," said Montreal manager Bobby White. "They played a good game."
