Downward Spiral Continues for Montreal
|
The 8-5 Joilet win over Montreal was due largely to Tamiela Kalolo. The Jesters third baseman was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Chris Rumrill got credit for the save for Joilet. It was his 21st of the year. The slumping Canadiens have lost 8 straight.
Bill Martz went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Joilet. The 27-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Kevin Sicola. It was his 22nd hit of the season.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Kalolo.
