The Laredo Ghosts got a sterling performance from pitcher Paul Reining, but the Quebec Aces still prevailed, 4-3. Reining threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The Aces raised their record to 49-64.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Quebec. That's when 25-year old first baseman John Oglesby hit a solo home run off Butch Saulters to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Oglesby.
