Portland Mad Ants starter Luis Alcoser pitched well against the Glendale Muskies at Mad Ants Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 2-1. Rich Wilkinson earned his 24th save in 25 chances. With the win, Portland upped its record to 64-48.

The Mad Ants got a big at-bat from center fielder Pat Kirchner. For the game, Kirchner went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 19th double of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Kirchner.
