The Little Rock Governors picked up a win at Ballpark of Newport News, knocking off the Portland Mad Ants, 6-1. Starting pitcher B.J. Rudolph played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Rudolph. He threw 6.2 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Kevin Kovach. With the win, Little Rock goes to 43-66, while the Mad Ants fall to 62-47.

Francisco Fierro had a big 2-run double for the Governors in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Little Rock leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Kevin Kovach and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 15th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Governors ahead, 4-1.

"B.J. was pounding the zone," said Little Rock manager Felipe Arriaga.
