The Montreal Royals topped the Portland Mad Ants, 10-2, in Stars Conference action at Mad Ants Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Montreal center fielder Brian Hendrix. Pedro Rodriguez earned the save, his 12th in 13 tries. With the win, Montreal raised its record to 74-36.

The Royals got a big hit from shortstop John Troia. Facing Portland pitcher Steve Greene in the top of the ninth, Troia pounded a grand slam home run to center. His 6th home run of the season put the Royals ahead, 10-2.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hendrix said.
