The Baxter Springs Marshals racked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, bumping off the Hartford Matadors, 4-1. Timothee Laziosi, who started for Baxter Springs, pitched effectively for his team. Steven Hyatt, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 19th save. The Matadors, at 55-54, have lost 6 in a row.
Alan McConnell, the 10th overall pick in the 2023 draft, took Hartford hurler Vinny Padilla deep in the top of the first. His 3-run home run put the Marshals on top, 3-0. In all, McConnell had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.
