Muskies Earn 3-2 Road Win Over Quebec
|
Hurler Jose Cardona gave the Glendale Muskies a solid start. The native of Mexico City, Distrito Federal de México helped his team defeat the Quebec Aces, 3-2, at Belmont Park. In 5.2 innings, Cardona surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. Ivan Medina earned the save, his 21st in 24 tries.
Glendale used the hitting of Tom Gessner to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Muskies on top, 2-0. For the game, Gessner had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Muskies manager Jermaine Allen.
The victory gives the Muskies a record of 60-51.
