Portland pitcher Moises Gonzalez did his part in helping his team defeat the Lubbock Stampede, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Portland, at 54-57, sits in third place in the Stars Conference West Division.

Portland used a well-timed hit by Jon Fritz to capture the win. The second baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mad Ants ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Mad Ants manager Efren Nieman.
