Dane Roberts, who is tied for 6th in the SC in innings pitched with 133.0, pitched well, but the Portland Mad Ants still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Lubbock Stampede at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Mike Braasch got the save, his 22nd in 23 chances. Lubbock's record now stands at 53-57, placing them 5th in the Stars Conference West Division.

Had Matt Williams not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Williams hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Stampede.

Williams said his team "played with determination."
