Mad Ants Get Past Laredo, 4-3
The Portland Mad Ants clipped the Laredo Ghosts, 4-3, in 11 innings at Ghosts Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Portland pitcher and Bloomfield, New Jersey, native Jimmy Carr. Dane Roberts, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-6. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. Bobby Villasenor earned his 2nd save in 4 chances.

Timmy Coenen came through with a big-time hit for Portland. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We've been playing some good baseball," Carr told the Portland Daily. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
