Alba Plays Big Role in Portland Win
|
Glendale had no answer for 24-year old right-handed pitcher Javier Alba. The Portland Mad Ants starter stymied Muskies hitters, helping the Mad Ants cruise to victory, 6-1. The win puts the Mad Ants at 63-42, while the Muskies drop to 56-49.
Alba imposed his will on the Muskies, scattering 2 hits over 7.1 innings while striking out 8. The right-hander upped his season record to 5-5.
"Javier was the difference maker. He was emotionally under control, had good stuff and makeup," said Portland manager Will Berman.
