Marshals Take Tight Tangle
The Baxter Springs Marshals had to overcome a big game from Quebec first baseman David Lovell to leave Belmont Park with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Lovell was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. Sam Powers was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Greg Mars. Baxter Springs bumps their record to 51-54 with the win.

George Sweeton came through with a big-time hit for Baxter Springs. The pinch hitter smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sweeton.
