Tailgators Win at Hartford, 4-1
|
The Chesapeake Tailgators picked up a win at Ballpark of Tacoma, dropping the Hartford Matadors, 4-1. Jimmy Miano was the difference-maker. The winner was Miano. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Alberto Renteria. The Tailgators go to 41-64 with the win.
Ed McCarson, who leads the SC in doubles with 27, had a direct impact on the outcome. McCarson contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Chesapeake up, 3-0.
"I thought Jimmy threw the ball well across the board," said Chesapeake manager Dave York.
