Late Rally Gets Ghosts 6-2 Win
|
The Baxter Springs Marshals went down to defeat to Nelson Martinez and his Laredo teammates. The final score was 6-2, in favor of the Ghosts. The win was credited to Butch Saulters in relief. His record improves to 5-3. Jeff Adams took the loss. With the win, the Ghosts have a record of 55-50.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Craig Megna came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Baxter Springs pitcher Jeff Adams, he hit a first pitch cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Laredo on top, 3-2.
"We take it day by day here," said Megna, "and today was a good one for us."
