Lasers Dealt 5-2 Loss by Hartford
|
Hartford and Nashville duked it out and the Matadors came out victorious.
Hartford Matadors starter Kory Pullar turned in a top-notch performance against the Nashville Lasers at Ballpark of Tacoma. The result was a win for the Matadors, 5-2. Pullar, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. The save was credited to Jeremy Carter, his 12th.
Eric Clayton had a big 2-run home run for the Matadors in the bottom of the second inning. With Hartford leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Pat Higginbotham and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Matadors on top, 3-0.
"That was a really good outing by Kory," said Hartford manager Jesse Heugly.
After today's action, Hartford sits at 49-54; Nashville slips to 51-52.
