Tailgators Suffer One-Run Loss at Glendale
|
In a tight tilt between the Glendale Muskies and the Chesapeake Tailgators, Bob Garbee was the deciding factor. The Glendale right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Zack Cunningham closed out the game, earning his 4th save. At 39-64, the Muskies claim last place in the Stars Conference West Division.
The Tailgators had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Muskies going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old third baseman Tim Kidd came to the plate. Kidd hit a bases-clearing double on a 2-2 cutter from Chesapeake hurler Alex Martinez. It was Kidd's 14th double of the year.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Garbee.
