Down to Defeat Goes Glendale, 7-2
|
Laredo and Glendale put this game in the books despite some rain.
Ghosts center fielder Skyler Swan put his stamp on his team's 7-2 win over the Glendale Muskies. Swan went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs for Laredo in the contest. Andy Firkins, the winning pitcher, is now 7-9. He went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 2.
The Muskies had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Ghosts going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder Adam Johnson came to the plate. Johnson hit a 2-run double on a 2-0 changeup from Glendale hurler Justin Farrell. It was Johnson's 2nd double of the year.
"Solid performance from our side," said Ghosts manager Josh Miller.
Laredo has won 3 straight, while Glendale has lost 3 in a row.
