Stampede Rally Late to Nip Ghosts
The Lubbock Stampede, despite a fine performance by Laredo pitcher Ivan Esparza, grabbed a 2-1 win at Reagor Dykes Stadium. Esparza allowed no runs over 8 innings. Gabe Calloway earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 3-1. With the win, Lubbock has a record of 47-53. Laredo falls to 42-58.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Jesus Ruiz in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Mike Revell to win it for Lubbock and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"We did just enough to win," Ruiz said.
