Tight Tilt Goes to Ghosts, 2-1
|
In a tight affair between the Laredo Ghosts and the Chesapeake Tailgators, pitcher Paul Reining was in the zone. The Laredo right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. Getting the save was Joe McLaughlin, his 1st. Laredo now sits at 57-45, while Chesapeake falls to 54-48.
The Ghosts got an important contribution from right fielder Justin Fiorini, who in the top of the third punched a full count slider into right-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Ghosts ahead, 2-0.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Laredo manager Josh Miller.
