In a low-scoring contest between the Joilet Jesters and the El Paso Chupacabras, Mark Herrera, who is tied for 6th in the SC with a 8.7 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Joilet right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Jesters win. Nick McKinney earned his 24th save, after closing out the game. With the win, Joilet has a record of 46-55. El Paso falls to 53-48.

In the bottom of the third inning, third baseman Bob de Leon had a 2-run home run for Joilet. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Jesters on top, 3-1.

"Mark's as tough as he is talented," said Joilet manager Hermenegildo Fernando.
