Marshals Ballpark was the site of a competitive game between the Hartford Matadors and Baxter Springs Marshals.

Baxter Springs beat Hartford at Marshals Ballpark, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to designated hitter Johnny Pullam. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Timothee Laziosi, credited with the win in relief, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings.

Tied up with the Matadors in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Marshals got a boost from shortstop Jay Fowler. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Fowler saw a first pitch fastball from Gabe Vincent and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Baxter Springs on top, 4-3.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Hartford skipper Jesse Heugly.

Baxter Springs occupies 4th place in the Stars Conference East Division at 48-53.
