Stampede Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Glendale
|
Jonathan Glover, who is tied for 4th in the SC in wins with 9, never let the Muskies get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Stampede to a win, 4-1. Mike Braasch earned the save, his 18th in 19 tries. Lubbock now sits at 45-52, while Glendale falls to 48-49.
Lubbock used the hitting of Danny Emery to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stampede on top, 3-1. For the game, Emery had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Stampede manager William Maysonet. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
