In a low-scoring affair between the Quebec Aces and the Laredo Ghosts, pitcher Curtis Gring was the difference between victory and defeat. The Quebec right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Aces win. The Aces raised their record to 53-45.

Kyle Newby had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Quebec. He came through with a 2-run single to put Quebec in front, 3-2.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Newby. "And not try to do too much."
