The Laredo Ghosts got a magnificent effort from pitcher Nelson Martinez, who kept Montreal hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Ghosts win at Ghosts Ballpark. Martinez got the win, improving to 8-4. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. With the win, Laredo upped its record to 48-47.

The Ghosts got a big at-bat from left fielder Ross Gotch. For the game, Gotch went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Laredo a 2-0 lead.

"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Martinez.
