Fremont Sends Chesapeake Packing with 2-1 Loss
|
The Fremont Marshalls, behind a great outing from Brian Gay, who is tied for 4th in the SC in wins with 9, defeated the Chesapeake Tailgators, 2-1, at Tailgators Ballpark. Tom Haas closed the game out for Fremont, earning his 8th save. The Marshalls now own a record of 46-50.
Fremont used the timely hitting of Mark White to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Marshalls on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Fremont manager Bill Mason called it "a good, solid win."
