9-4 Loss to Matadors Extends Glendale Losing Streak
The Hartford Matadors finished off the Glendale Muskies, 9-4. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter Tim Lotz. Lotz was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Matadors. Danny Rivas earned the save for Hartford, his 1st. The losses continue to mount for Glendale, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

Gene Cheatham had a big 3-run home run for the Matadors in the bottom of the third inning. With Hartford leading 3-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Cardona and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Matadors on top, 6-0.

"We're not exactly playing great right now," said Jermaine Allen, the Glendale manager.
