Joilet Earns 4-3 Win

The Jesters grabbed a win, 4-3, at Ballpark of Joilet, overcoming a fine effort from Chesapeake pitcher Alex Martinez. Martinez went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The win was credited to Tristan Fry in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Rick Gregg took the loss. Nick McKinney was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 23 save opportunities.
The Jesters beat the Tailgators in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Kyle Bailey produced in the bottom of the eighth. Batting against Rick Gregg, Bailey gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It feels good to get this one," Bailey told the Joilet Citizen.
The Jesters now have a record of 42-51 with the win over Chesapeake.
