Mad Ants Use Late Surge to Win
Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Portland Mad Ants and Glendale Muskies.

Portland Mad Ants starter Kevin Kovach pitched his team past the Glendale Muskies, 6-0. The winner was Kovach. He threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jason Alvers.

Portland used the timely hitting of Chris Yost to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mad Ants on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Said losing manager Jermaine Allen: "Obviously, we wished for a better outcome."
