Thanks in large part to left fielder Emilio Abreu, the El Paso Chupacabras beat the Fremont Marshalls, 9-4. Abreu was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Jay Sikora got the win, improving to 9-4. He worked 7 innings, giving up 4 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. By defeating Fremont, the second-place Chupacabras improved to 50-39.

Cameron Polen had a big 2-run double for the Chupacabras in the top of the third inning. With El Paso leading 5-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Tim Peters, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2023 draft, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chupacabras ahead, 7-2.

"I thought we competed really well," said Chupacabras manager William Maysonet. "I thought the energy was really good."
