Royals Deal Ghosts 4-2 Loss
|
Montreal Royals starter Tom Henwood pitched his team past the Laredo Ghosts, 4-2. Henwood yielded 2 runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-1. Alec Wright earned his 14th save, after closing out the game.
Montreal relied on the bat of Dashawn Carter to get the win. The center fielder ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Royals ahead, 3-0. For the game, Carter had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
After the game, Montreal manager Bobby White applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
Laredo's current losing streak is now 4 games.
