Mad Ants Sneak By Tailgators, 4-3
|
Mad Ants center fielder Chris Medders left his imprint on his team's 4-3 win over the Chesapeake Tailgators. Medders was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Portland in the contest. Portland reliever Gordie Clifford picked up the win, upping his record to 2-4. Bobby Dwyer absorbed the loss. Portland is now 48-40.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Portland. That's when 26-year old right fielder Mark Stella hit a solo home run off Bobby Dwyer to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"I like to keep things lively in the clubhouse," said Medders. "Believe me, it's much easier after a win."
