Dominant Performance by Najera in Chesapeake Win
|
Tailgators Ballpark featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Chesapeake Tailgators downed the Nashville Lasers, 2-0, at Tailgators Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Luis Najera had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the SC with a 1.78 ERA, handcuffed his opponent all game. With the win, Chesapeake raised its record to 46-42.
Najera tossed 96 pitches over 7.1 innings to clinch the win for the Tailgators. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.
"Luis looked very determined to have a good game," said Chesapeake manager Dave York. "He was totally focused and he produced."
