The Hartford Matadors defeated the Montreal Canadiens, 7-2, in Stars Conference action at Ballpark of Tacoma. Hartford pitcher Joe Stanley had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Stanley, now 6-3. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 2. Hartford now owns a record of 49-37.

The Matadors got a big at-bat from first baseman Kevin Cremo. For the game, Cremo went 2-4 with 2 home runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Hartford a 3-2 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Cremo told the Hartford Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
