Tailgators Ballpark was the site for Stars Conference action featuring the Portland Mad Ants and Chesapeake Tailgators.

The Chesapeake Tailgators coasted to a win over the Portland Mad Ants, 10-3. R.J. DeStefano had a good day at the plate for Chesapeake. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The 4th-place Tailgators bumped their record to 45-42.

Troy Appling drove in one run for Chesapeake. The slick-fielding center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Jaheim Jennings. It was his 8th RBI of the season.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said DeStefano, "and then get after it again."
