Pat Higginbotham pitched a gem to lead Nashville to victory over the Fremont Marshalls, 4-1. Nashville is now 53-33, 5½ games up in the Stars Conference East Division.

Lee Peck dealt the Marshalls a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Nashville leading 2-1, Peck, who is tied for 8th in the SC in total bases with 137, hit a 2-2 fastball for a run-scoring single.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Higginbotham.
