Branson 5-for-5 Against Canadiens
Ray Branson exploded for a barrage of base hits at Oilers Ballpark.

The Chesapeake catcher had a field day in his team's 14-3 triumph over the Montreal Canadiens, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Branson must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Ray Branson doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off John Huff in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

This year, Branson has 1 home run and a .196 batting average.
