Royals Nip Jesters, 2-1
|
The Joilet Jesters wasted an impressive 8-inning effort from starter Barry McLamb, falling, 2-1, to the Montreal Royals at Turtles Ballpark. Montreal is now 57-26, 7 games up in the Stars Conference East Division.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Montreal. That's when 27-year old third baseman John Gadsden hit a solo home run off Micah Morgan to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Gadsden said.
