Tight Tilt Goes to Chupacabras, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the El Paso Chupacabras and the Baxter Springs Marshals, pitcher Marc Manis was the difference between victory and defeat. The El Paso left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Chupacabras win. Brandon Jones closed it out for El Paso, earning his 9th save. El Paso is second in the Stars Conference West Division with a record of 43-41.
Sean Dowling, who is tied for 9th in the SC in triples with 3, chipped in a solo home run for El Paso in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
