Hartford registered a win at Ballpark of Tacoma by beating the Chesapeake Tailgators, 6-3. Pitcher Fernando Garcia was one reason why the Matadors triumphed. The losing streak for Chesapeake has now reached 5 games.
Andrew Flynn, who is tied for 4th in the SC in total bases with 144, chipped in a solo home run for Hartford in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Fernando gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Hartford skipper Jesse Heugly.
