Stampede Need Extra Innings to Top Lasers, 5-3
|
The Lubbock Stampede walked off with a big win.
The Lubbock Stampede racked up a win at Reagor Dykes Stadium, bumping off the Nashville Lasers, 5-3, in 13 innings. Gerardo Cruz, who started for Lubbock, pitched effectively for his team. The defeat makes Nashville 40-42.
Lubbock got a knockout punch from Frank Lewis. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 13th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Lewis said.
